One of the approved charities is Christian Relief Fund which has lots of options if you donate directly to them outside of Greenlight (you can sponsor a child, if you already sponsor a child you can give them a gift, or you can donate chickens, pigs, cows, bibles, etc). However, when attempting to donate via the Giving balance in Greenlight the only option is to give a donation to the general fund - no option to select to give a specific item or to give to your sponsored child, or to sponsor a child. It would be nice if via the Giving balance you could donate directly with the charity via their normal process rather than being forced to give to the general fund via a third party.

Giving is very confusing for kids. It takes them to another website vs allowing them to give directly from their giving account.

My child should not be able to transfer money from Giving to Spend Anywhere, it should be able to be locked like Savings.

Here's a copy-and-paste version: The Giving category appears to be used for purchases at merchants that are classified as nonprofits or charities, even when the transaction is clearly a retail purchase rather than a donation. In my case, purchases at SQ APA| THRIFT - BURN were pulled from Giving, which was surprising (it's a thrift store) and not the intended behavior. Since Giving is automatically funded through allowance, the current workaround (provided by your chatbot) is basically to avoid using the feature as designed and instead route money elsewhere, then manually move funds when my child wants to donate. It would be great if Giving could be limited to intentional donations only, rather than any merchant that may be categorized as nonprofit-related. Does that capture it the way you want?

My children used their debit card at the school, which is a nonprofit, and instead of the money coming from their spend anywhere account, it came from their giving account. I’ve talked with customer service, and there is no way to stop that in the future, which I think is a big flaw in the app. Money should never directly debit from the charity/giving account but only be intentionally done from the app.

I would like parent paid interest to apply to my child's giving account as well as their savings. They should earn interest on the money they are saving to give to charity.

I would like to automatically parent-match whatever portion of my child’s allowance they allocate to giving. E.g if they put $2 from their $10 allowance into giving, I would like an additional $2 from the parent to go into giving.

10-16-24 Parent requests approval from Giving Category before funds are withdrawn from the spend control. "My boys will use their cards to buy snacks at a school concession stand. But because the concession stand (vendor) is run by the PTA or whomever that has established themselves as a non-profit, Greenlight thinks the transaction is one of charitable giving. I would just prefer that your software coders/programmers/developers not do that. Let giving be exactly that and allow it to be a deliberate transaction, even if prompts a pop-up or some other notification. “We noticed you are making a transaction with a non-profit organization. Would you like this to come from your giving category? Yes or No.” something to that end."
