I use recurring "Up for grabs" chores (for example, every Friday) as a weekly pool that any of my kids can claim. Right now, once a child claims a recurring "Up for grabs" chore, that child stays assigned to every future occurrence. It never goes back to the pool, and there is no way to switch an assigned chore back to "Up for grabs" for everyone.
The only workarounds are making a new one-time chore every week, or deleting and recreating the recurring chore. Both are manual work every single week, and that doesn't scale with several kids and several chores.
Request: add an option on recurring "Up for grabs" chores, something like "Reset to up for grabs each time," so each new occurrence starts unassigned and any child can claim it.
Why it matters:
-It keeps "Up for grabs" doing its job: kids compete for extra work and extra earnings.
-Parents don't have to touch it every week.
-Work stays shared instead of sticking with whoever claimed it first.
Also helpful: let a parent switch an assigned chore back to "Up for grabs."
