Parent Debit Card
S.C. Lehman
As my oldest is becoming more independent, we are trying to give her the responsibility of carrying a wallet and protecting her debit card so she understands its importance and value once she has a driver’s license.
The problem is she’s lost it 3 times this year alone. I’m tired of replacing the card or being in a situation where she’s supposed to pay, but doesn’t have her card or even a way to Zelle or Venmo her funds so I don’t have to pay for her irresponsibility out of my pocket.
Having a Parent’s Account debit card would allow me to quickly transfer her Spending money back tot he Parent’s Account and use the Greenlight bank account to cover her charge. Otherwise, I have to transfer it out of Greenlight banking all together and then wait 1-3 business days for my funding bank to be reimbursed.

It would be awesome to allow parents to have cards as well. My husband and I have budgeted 'free money' we can use almost as an allowance and it would be nice if we could have a card for this instead of needing cash.

A debit card for parents

This is a heavy feature since it would have to include history, etc. But my biggest desire for the debit card is an easier/faster way to withdraw money from the parents' account. Or add an option to cash out to a debit card (available within minutes).
I'm scared to load a lot of money into parents account and then realize I budgeted incorrectly and need that money.

Thank you for sharing this with us, S.C. We've received a similar request from other parents and understand the importance for children to have the ability to pay their parent back. We are always working to improve our Greenlight experience and will be sure to pass your feedback along to the team.

Thanks so much for your feedback/suggestion, Chris!
