My kids are having a blast learning about investing and doing well. However, dollar cost averaging is only one way to invest. Choosing profitability targets of an open position is a fundamental lesson to learn and one that can be taught well with limit orders. Selling at market requires more attention to daily movement. However, choosing to take a position then applying a limit & stop order teaches both intentional investing and risk management by limiting losses.
