🔒 Habits First → 🚦 Red/Yellow/Green Chores: A Balanced Choice System
Angela H.
The Idea: Stop the chore-chart nagging with a "Prerequisite + Pick 3" system. (example attached)
- The Gatekeeper: Kids must check off "Personal Habits" (teeth, bed, homework) to UNLOCK their chores. No habits = No earning.
- The Pick 3: Chores are put into 3 buckets: 🔴 Red (Hard), 🟡 Yellow (Med), and 🟢 Green (Easy).
- The Rule: To finish their day, kids must "Pick 1" from each bucket.
Include a daily "parent sign off".
This would solve:
--No more "Cherry Picking": They can’t just do the easy stuff; they have to pick a "Red" task to finish their day.
--Autonomy: They choose which hard task they do.
--Automation: The app "nags" them about their habits so you don't have to.
